Licenses

"Free" as in "free speech"

All components of the Geopublishing-Framework are Free Software. Free doesn't mean, that the handling of the interlectual property is not preceisely defined by rules. The different components of the Software have been released using two different free software licenses. Both licenses give you the following freedom:

  1. Freedom: The freedom to run the program, for any purpose.
  2. Freedom: The freedom to study how the program works, and change it to make it do what you wish. You access to the source code is a precondition for this.
  3. Freedom: The freedom to redistribute copies so you can help your neighbor.
  4. Freedom: The freedom to improve the program, and release your improvements (and modified versions in general) to the public, so that the whole community benefits.

Geopublisher, AtlasStyler and AtlasViewer

For a more detailed explanation of the licenses visit the pages of the Free Software Foundation Europe.

Third party software

The Geopublishing Framework is an Open-Source project which uses many other Open-Souce components as building blocks. The following table list all thrid-party libraries used in the Geopublishing-Framework and links to their specific licenses. We thank their developers - without their commitment to free software, the Geopublishing-Framework would not be possible.
