Geopublisher basic knowledge

Question 1 of 6

When an atlas has been exported to a DVD/CD with Geopublisher, what are the requirements to run this DVD/CD on a Windows computer?

When the atlas is started from a DVD or CD, the software looks for the most recent Java 6 it can find at three places:

  1. Java installed on the computer.
  2. If the computer is online and the user has administrator rights, the latest Java version at the Oracle webpage is checked.
  3. The Java bundled with the atlas.

Hence no administrator rights are required and no Java has to be installed on the computer to view the atlas.

Atlas users should have a recent Java 6 installed. If none is installed, the atlas will start using a Java environment bundled with the published atlas. Hence no administrator rights nor a Java installation is required on the atlas user computer.

Atlas users need to have a recent Java 6 installed. If it is not installed, the atlas will ask for administrator rights and install it.
